Jac tweeted out earlier in week, Port Royal. Sammy at Port who knows what others. I'm guessing between 45-50 cars.  Lots of extra money on the line at Port.

I hope they have the track very wet at the beginning of the night tonight.  If they do it will be a good one.  I will be watching times if they are in the mid to a very little above the middle 15 second bracket in warm ups I may go over to the Port tonight.....if they are not I will be staying home no sense watching ba slip and slide.  Time will tell.  I hate yes hate slip and slides all night long. Does anyone know where Larson is going....that just could be the determining factor if  I go or not..he is amazing!!!

Yea I think I am going to Lincoln tonight.  I just think the track will be better and an overall better show along with the Sportsmans and Midgets.  Maybe Port Sunday but depends on how the track is tonight.

They've been putting water on it today. Today and tomorrow are going to be the hottest days we've had this year so far. Just relax and give it a chance. Pack some extra beers in the cooler for hydration and have a good time.

I have given it a chance by watching on speedshift.  I have been live and in person a lot and hated how they prepared the track.  That has been a few years ago.  I made myself a promise that I wouldn't go back until they fix the track surface.

I dont care if it is slick all the way to the top. I dont like slick all the way up to a heavy cushion right at the fence.  That is one lane boring racing as well. Need 2 or 3 fairly even grooves no matter what the lap times are and it is good racing.

When Kyle won at port during speedweek that was the best that track has been prepared in years.....why because the track was at its raciest with a cushion  during the feature.  He said he finally had grip. Did you see him diamond the corners it has been many of years since I saw that move.  Todd Shaffer had that move profected. That came from the extra water and the cushion. Without a cushion sprint racing is very boring....like napcar.

Did you see the Grove Las night?  Kyle almost dumped it a couple of times in 4.  He didn't and he rebounded for the win.  Great drivers find a way when the track is heavy early in the night and then the track changes in the feature a lot.  Separates the good teams from the great teams.

Slip and slides all night long are for the backyard not for race tracks.  I have seen enough paved racing at the Juniata county oval it is time for real sprint car racing there for the rest of the year.

I can tell tonight is going to be a slip and slide.  I am glad I didn't go.  Turning black in warmups. Big dry spot in turn one.  Punk dry at that spot..... totally brown and if you hit that spot everyone can tell.  I am shaking my head razor Steve doesn't have a clue.   Brock sliding into the fence...lack of track prep. I like a lot of the drivers but that is so sad....I will not be back anytime soon.

Its amazing that every track in the USA isn't competing for your track prep expertise... wink

No, nor do I want that job.  Port is the worst prepared track in the east.  I don't do excuses....I expect the track prep of Knoxville from  razor Steve if not I will never go back.  I work way too hard for my money to waste it on track prep like they do week in and week out.  Your best racing should be in the feature not the heats...see port Royal.

Never have I seen a track all but one or two getting hard black and dry in warmups. Slip and slide racing isn't sprint car racing never was and never will be.  No excuses port get it right.

Williamsgrove had an excellent track last night. Cudos to the track crew!!  That is how tracks should be prepared!!

Yeah best racing in the heats again.   That is for the features.  I didn't screw up.  I don't and never will like slip and slides all night long it is not sprint racing.  The feature is the race that will suffer again.

Wet at the start of the night and part way into the feature the track really starts to change.

Port  is a crew chief dream.....put the setup in the car and have to make very few changes through the night.  Make them work for the race don't make it easy on them.

Port tonight slip slide and away....junk track already and they have a lot of racing left tonight.

Tomorrow will t a real treat......just saying.....

Port is not anywhere close to the "worst prepared track in the East." I grew up as a huge dirt Modified fan. Port's surface blows away just about every dusty, slippery ice rink in New York that has not seen a water truck in decades. Surfaces are so univerally bad in New York state that driver Tim Fuller referred to the tracks as "New York shitholes" a number of years back while he was on the WoO Late Model tour.

USAC driver Robert Ballou referred to Weedsport as a "shithole" a couple years ago on Twitter because the surface was so icy,

Port is probably the best prepared track in the East consistantly. Lincoln gets a lot of credit for track prep but has a lot of nights when it's follow the leader. Comparing Port to the Grove and that's not even close.

And as you said, the NY tracks are just plain bad for sprint cars.

Yes, Port is the worst prepared track in the east.   Watching the feature from last night I almost fell a sleep from boredom.  It is nothing more than an ice rink everyweek.   Watching my grass grow would have been more exciting.

What you said about NY tracks is what Port has turned into the last fews years.  Last night no one could get a good grip on the surface.   Very poor racing in the feature!!

I hope they found the keys to the water truck and they actually get some water down into the surface instead of just all on top.
