and I thought I was the only one laughing at that one... add to it how they threw the yellow just because he pulled off the track and into the pits during the heat....  It has been like that for years and years clean back in the day.. and if you think about it and how few full time top flight cars the WOO really depends on night in and night out, who can blame them.....

Oh goody, another world of outlaws conspiracy thread about the work area time.

Johnny Gibson, can you please clear up once again?

Well I was actually there, and he got 10-15mins (a bit exaggerated) because the track had to be cleaned up with multiple cars damaged. You see it's not 2mins & if you are not fixed then you have to call it quits. His 2mins expired while the cars were still stopped & Johnny even announced it. And the main reason that he got a couple extra laps at the end is because multiple cars towards the back of the field were not lines up properly. Many were still pacing side by side. Sweet was ready before the caution lights went out but they couldn't push him off because of where the push bar was in relation to the push truck.

As for the caution in the heat race, call me crazy but I think it's wise for officials to throw a caution if a guy is slow on the track and not completely off of it. That way it eliminates potential of other guys plowing into him. He wasn't completely off the track. Finally, it didn't matter anyway because he went to the trailer. I know the pandemic has left some people out of practice with the WoO conspiracy theories, but I think we can do better than this example

the sound you are hearing is the sound of most race fans rolling their eyes at that one....  Wouldn't it be better to just kind of acknowledge the obvious and move on... Its really not that big of a deal...  Of course, you could be right.... Due to the pandemic we all (except for you) have lost ability to see what we see and make logical conclusions....    Oh bother way.. thanks for clearing up that part about 2 minutes and you have to quit working on the car... Cause I'm really sure that no one else in the world knew that but you...... The issues with the 49 were a super big story with season long implications that everyone got to see first hand through the first class efforts of dirt vision and their pit area TV team.... (thanks all for that)...   Think of it this way....  The Attica race was a great show and I think most everyone wanted to see the 49 back in the race...How they apply these rules only matters if they do it differently for the other WOO teams and I think that is all handled pretty well....  The local racer doesn't care about valuable season points and is not staffed to rebuild their car in 2 minutes so other that a tire change its just N/A for anyone OTHER than a regular WOO team.....

Eye rolling doesn't really make a sound, more of a sight but nice try at the insult anyway. I did acknowledge the obvious which I saw with my own 2 eyes while sitting right in front of it. He got into a wreck, he went to the work area, 2 minutes was up, the field wasn't pushed off, they kept working, they were done working on it, the field wasn't lined up properly, they tried to push him & couldn't, got another push truck since the work was done before the caution lights went out so he could rejoin.

And the term is, oh by the way not oh bother way. Which, oh by the way........................you're welcome about clearing up the 2minutes since obviously not everyone apparently knew about since it was brought up that the work time was a joke and he got "10-15 minutes." Just trying to clear it up for someone who apparently thought that 2minutes meant only 2 minutes. There really wasn't any special treatment, the rule was applied the same way and really Kerry Madsen had just the same amount of time as Sweet did. I don't need to think of it any other way than the way that was actually in front of me. The rules were applied correctly.

Agree

I watched the entire race and think your assessment is correct.  We get about 2 or 3 "work-area conspiracies" per year and this is the first one  since we returned to racing I believe.  There is also another reason the Outlaws benefit from the work area more than locals-------the majority of the feature is Outlaws most places they visit.  In this case I believe 14 or 15 full time outlaws out of 23 cars.

I follow the creed of our high-school conference:

"Let the coaches coach, the spectators spectate and the officials officiate"   Since we are all spectators, sit back and enjoy the races.  Let the officials sort out the other problems.

Sometimes there are gray areas that aren't going to be popular with everyone.  However, Brad Sweet in the work area was not even on my radar for controversy.  We've been through this before.  As you pointed out Nick, he doesn't just get 2 minutes and he's done.  He gets a guaranteed 2 minutes----minimum!  That varies incident to incident.  If he smacks the wall on his own, yellow comes out, and he goes to the work area, he's going to get 2 minutes and it's over.  We've seen it countless times.  I've been in the stands with Brad himself did not make it back out of the work area and the race went green.  In this case, there were other issues on the track to deal with.  He can use all of the time he needs.

Johnny Gibson already spelled out the rules and how they apply last year when someone complained about the same thing.  It was pretty clear to me.   I think everyone should just keep the conspiracy theories coming.  They aren't getting old at all!!!   Good grief

I was watching on Flo and the cameras were focused on the pits so viewers could not see what was going on trackside. Could you provide some insight into why it took so long to get the track ready for racing. Numerous minutes transpired after all 4 cars were in the pits and it didn't appear that any of them were leaking fluids. Thanx.

I'm pretty sure I should just let it go... But what the heck, I'm just, as you say, one of those crazy pandemic stricken race fans who doesn't know anything, unlike you......  For example: If you say to us, that we have two minutes to do something we would get stupid and think we only had oh, maybe two minutes....  Imagine that......     but then, since you were standing right there you of course would know better......     Try this one....  I would guess (without reading the actual rule) the intent here is "how long we will wait"  not how long you can work....... Your statements and the WOO's for that matter of "you get 2 miinutes in the work area"   really means thats how long we hold up the race waiting..  over time and repetition it becomes known as the 2 minute rule...  even us pandemic dummies that you seem to ridicule know that....  Lets just say that Nick14 will always be there to defend the honor of the WOO should us low life fans ever want to make a comment again.......   Go Nick...  be careful nick. you might look in the stands some day and we are all gone....

Once again, drivers are allowed a MINIMUM of 2 minutes in the work area.  Meaning, if they pull into the work area, all cars are rolling, and the track is clear, they will not line up and go green for at least 2 minutes.  However, if the cars are not rolling, and the track is not clear, and the cars are not lined up ready to go green, they can use the ENTIRE time to work on the car.

MINUMUM of 2 minutes in the work area.   MINIMUM.  Not 2 minutes in the work area.  Not 2 minutes allowed to do something.  2 MINUTES MINIMUM.

Does this help your understanding?

Your initial intuition to just let it go would have been the proper course of action. Not only in this babbling did you not make any point at all, you called yourself stupid, a dummy, and a low life so maybe your post was one of personal development as in order to fix a problem is realizing their is one. You now realize it, good luck on the fixing.

Also if I am there seeing it with my own 2 eyes I don't need to try in looking into anything or think about something. If I am at a chocolate factory seeing the chocolate being made I'm not going to say nahhh bro, this can't be how it works. The oompa loompas have to be somewhere man, the chocolate companies are in it together.

And a lot of us would love if the low life stupid fans weren't around anymore we would pay extra for you to be gone. Don't threaten me with a good time. Speaking of which, hoping to have one tonight attending Atomic for their 410 show. Will let you know if I see any UFOs, Sasquatchs, or sober West Virginians.

I was pickin up what you were puttin down until you got to the sober part....  Now you've shown yourself to be just another pecker head.....    quote "a lot of us would love if the low life stupid fans weren't around"....      How in the world can you even make such a statement and attach a thought process to it......    That's just awful on every level.... On this we seem to agree.... I am a low life fan not worthy of being around and you are a first class pecker head IF YOU ACTUALLY THINK THAT.   But only if......  Either way, I'm going to enjoy however many races we get this year and maybe all the low life fans will not bother you to much.....

This is the way it goes. Same thing with Schatz last year at Nationals. If your a Stewart car or Kasey Kahne car or Stenhouse car they always bend the rules for them. Man Sheldon tears it up all the time and they always wait for him no matter how much time because NOS is Outlaws title sponsor. Go figure right? Logan a few weeks ago wrecked and they never gave him the time that they would give Schatz, Lil Haud or Sweet. Big money dominates here just like everywhere else. Dam I seen Sammy get the shaft a bunch of times at Outlaw races when he was Driving Big Game and they would give Steve plenty more time if something happened. Hate to say it but its true. Like being at work if your a favorite you can get away with almost anything and the rules are bent all the the time for favortism. Go figure. Welcome to the real world.

Now thats pretty funny. Beware though, don't pick on posters to much or actually straighten them out on a subject in a not so nice way.  The mods will strike you down.

Well I'm glad you are admitting that you are a low life and I appreciate you trying to not bother me and the rest of the fans. Now put that into practice and stop speaking/typing.
