Well, Kyle didn't stay down long winning at Lawrenceberg tonight taking the lead from Thomas Mesaurell with 'bout 3 to go.  Buddy Kofoid followed him around Mesaurell for 2nd, another good night for him.  Last night's winner, Chris Windom, made a good run from midpack and finished 4th.

If that wasn't enough for Larson he also picked up the WoO win as car owner at Haubstadt with Carson Macedo wheeling it.  His brother-in-law, Brad Sweet was the bridesmaid.

Guess we'll have to stop worrying about whether Kyle can still get it done.(snicker)

The 2nd place finish on friday night had to be devastating for the team. I wasn't sure how they would react. If VH-1 ever does a 'Behind the Music' type documentary on Kyle, that 2nd place the other night will be the lowest of the lows type moment.

Rumor is there is a petition going around the Indiana tracks that has been signed by most of the owners and drivers of the open wheel classes begging NASCAR to reinstate Kyle, even to the point of paying a big "fine"  if NASCAR will do so.  As we all know the France family is all about the bucks.

Curiously no open wheel fans have signed the petition.   Hmmm?

i read on twitter he went to george floyd's memorial in minneapolis...and without making a big fuss about it which is the most important part.  i was disappointed his social media accounts disappeared when the protests were picking up across the country.  it was an opportunity to prove he said those things out of immaturity...not hate...and that he learned from it.  looks like he has and doing it quietly actually speaks louder.  we've all said stupid things that haven't cost nearly as much before we had a chance to learn from them.

looking forward to see him in pennsylvania again this week...and back in nascar if that's even the direction he wants to go.

Sometimes getting fired from a job you don't really like can be a blessing. I'm sure Kyle misses the $$$, but i also bet he's having LOTS' O FUN! Smile

A couple things about Kyle i read regularly confuse me.

1. He is risking his life to entertain us. Wrong. He is risking his life and we are entertained but that isnt his reason for racing. He is racing cause he enjoys it, likes to go fast and win money and races etc etc. Our entertainment is a fruit of his work but it isnt the motive of his work.

2. He is redeeming himself by winning races. Wrong. I dont think his mom needed to scold him for what he said let alone lose his job and face all this racist reaction. By silently going to the mans memorial without hyping it on social media does way more for redemption than winning a race. Racing and racist arent from the same root word and winning in an openwheel race car provides nothing in the way of sympathy, redemption or character.

Rod, regarding your thoughts on my titling the post about Larson's redemtion, it certainly had absolutely nothing to do with the poorly thought out n word that caused him all the troubles with th current pc attitude of our country.

Being from the west coast I have had the great pleasure of watching Kyle's progress up the ladder from the beginning and have been around him many times at the tracks and have never seen or heard from anyone out here that racism was any kind of issue with him.  Being of mixed racial heritage himself it is even less likely.  He's, in my opinion, a good young man who merely slipped up while kidding around with friends playing a game.

Redemption was just a tongue-in-cheek bit of humor alluding to various posts on many forums insinuating that Kyle's racing career was over with.  If I'm misunderstanding your comments I apologize.  If not, lighten up.

"He is racing cause he enjoys it, likes to go fast and win money and races etc etc. Our entertainment is a fruit of his work but it isnt the motive of his work."??..... the fans make it possible for him to get paid for doing what he likes

"face all this racist reaction."???? What "racist reaction"??? I thought we were taking a break from politics?

Why do you say that? You think he could win so much while being distracted?

Thats kind of dissing the other drivers, no?

Kyle needs to make the first move. It's not up to Nascar. Plus he has no ride, no sponsors and no team willing to take a chance.

Over4t... i could have posted in any of the 8 threads on Larsen. My thoughts were based on tid bits from every thread and i did get your meaning of redemption, I didnt even jntentionally pick this one.

Revjimk, sorry if that came across as political, wasn't the intention,  being a Canadian im not concerned about your politics at all.

I saw that as well & glad he did quietly for the reasons you spoke of. Shows maturity & posting it everywhere would probably make it look like a stunt to grab attention. I'm proud of him for going about it that way.

Well accordng to IOW Forum one of the Owners put a 1000.00 Bounty od Larsons head.  Anyone to beat Larson was paid a grand extra.  I do believe it was done after his 2nd win when he went from either 14th or 15th to win the race.  He is really making some noise in the DIRT WORLD at this time.

Forget NASCAR he may get offered an Indy/Champ car ride before NASCAR comes knocking again.  That would also open up a possible F-1 Ride. HMMM Doesn't/isn't Tony Stewart involved with an F-1 team or wants to be?  I personally think he should stay away from NASCAR, that series is going down faster than a boat without a bottom.  They are bleeding fans more and more each year.  When it is time to reup their Network Contract I have a feeling NASCAR is going to be VERY DISAPPOINTED with the offer.  Fans in the Stands are way down, Network retings are way down that means Network Money will be way down when it coame around.  NASCAR has no one to blame but themselves.
