Heard the announcer at the Stockton Dirt Track race talk about books by Dave Albright, thought one was called Life with Luke. Anyone know where you can buy some of these books?

I think the author you're looking for is Dave Argabright.

I remember I think it was my 3rd or 4th Knoxville Nationals, And I think it was in hotlaps if I remember correctly. Jimmy Sills went into the wooden wall in turn #1 so hard it put a hole big enough for the Saefty worker to easily crawl through.. Glad he was okay as the cars weren't near as protective of the driver back then.

That was 1996 and it was in qualifying - heading into turn one after taking the checkered flag I believe. In that case it was the cage net that likely saved him but it knocked him pretty loopy so everybody was messing with him all night :-).  It tore the valve cover off the right side of the motor is the one thing I remember. A crew member told me they figured out the right rear exploaded right before the car entered the turn.

One of the hardest hits I've seen anybody take into turn 1... glad he was relatively ok... looking foward to reading this book!

Between sprints, midgets, and silver crown, few are as talented and accomplished as Sills was!
