For the first time since I stared doing this in 2015, Donny Schatz, due to his slow start (slow for him), is not #1!

1 Brad Sweet 0.7343
2 Daryn Pittman 0.6824
3 Tim Shaffer 0.5996
4 David Gravel 0.5921
5 Donny Schatz 0.5675
2019 410 Wingless Ratings
1 CJ Leary 0.7946
2 Justin Grant 0.7883
3 Thomas Messeraul 0.7263
4 Chris Windom 0.6850
5 Kyle Cummins 0.6652

Not to worry, Mr. Schatz will be back to #1 when it really counts - like the middle of August.
Just like the King before him, he lulls everyone to sleep with mediocrity until the middle of the summer then watch out.
But, I'm OK if I'm wrong.....again.

Maybe I've missed some of his results, but isn't Lance Dewease something like 2 wins in 4 starts? DD is off to a hot start too.

I believe LD is 2 wins in 3 starts (Williams Grove DNF, Port Win, Lincoln Win). These ratings seem to primarily focus on the driver earnings and having run only 3 shows he does not have much of a chance of a high rating at this point.

If you click on the 410 ratings you will see that DD is 7th. Dewease is not ranked because it also states a minimum of 5 races is needed if you click on the link.

It looks like his formula is based off of 20% Money, 30% wins, and 50% average finish, plus other weighted factors. I think you would have seen Dewease take a large jump if that DNF was a top 5 finish, with both the winnings and the average finish jumping up.

Most of what everyone has stated is correct, on why DeWease is currently not higher. With the minimum set to 5 for now, since he has only run 3, my formula only gives him credit for 60% of his numbers. Since it's still very early in the season, with not a lot of races and way too many rain outs, a lot of it will change as the season goes on.
I did a test, and set the minimum to 3 just to see where he'd end up, and it showed him as #7. Also, to note, the 'main' ratings that are based on the last 2 rolling years, he's #7. I believe he was #5 to start the season.

Remember the competition also please, the Posse are nowhere near as strong as they were a few years back. Before the Cheerleaders go crazy, all three of the Big Dogs in this group should all be in the Hall of Fame and will be one day.....

Maybe the Dewease die-hards need to take collections and put Dewease on the road where there are more races, bigger purses........and of course, stiffer competition, also. Yikes!

About all I know of Dewease is his name, but I cant for the life of me understand why he should travel to all these huge events to improve his own self confidence when many other less known PA residents get to stay home and race locally without any grief. One should be able to race where you want when you want if you want. I know many of us would like to see how he does against strong fields at big events but maybe he doesnt care or need to prove anything to himself.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

To borrow the 3rd person thinking from Super Chuck......Larsonfan has vowed to be a kindler, gentler member of this board for 2019....
But......I'm not a PA Posse cheerleader or homer - but your statement above is pretty rediculous MSPN.
Plus, Dewease was is the HOF already.

LD has travelled plenty in his career and has had success doing so. He's over 50 now and in a part time ride, which suits him fine. I'd still like to see him give the Nationals 1 more chance though.

Dewease throughout his career has made a great deal of money running close to central pa. He has had more than one opportunity to get out on the road and has stayed put every time. I'm hoping things go well for the 69k team this year and they have a chance to make knoxville. It would be a fitting end to a great career, then you would just see them back to a limited schedule of picking and choosing close to home. As stated your watching a hall of fame driver AND crew chief every time he pulls away from the push truck.

I agree with all that you said, except Dewease did run full time with the All Stars in 2008, finishing 2nd in points after leading all year and with one race to go. I'm not sure why people keep claiming Dewease needs to leave the porch. I have never ONCE heard Lance refer to them as the Dream Team or better than anyone else. If anything, Lance continuously thanks his fans for the support and reiterates how he's extremely lucky to be in the position he is, still racing and driving for a competitive team. I don't think that he needs to or cares to prove anything to anyone. If you're going to have beef, have it with Dewease fans claiming they are the best in the business, not Lance. The guy is having fun racing his favorite local tracks, with a fun team and crew while staying close to home and his family. There are some fans that claim they are the best around, but again I've never once seen Donald or Lance make that claim. Can't blame a guy for staying home to take care of his business and family, while having fun.

Dont let a precieved opinion on this forum of a driver replace your true opinion from knowing him personally.
