Anyone know of any racing in the Phoenix Casa Grande area in January or February?
Prefer sprints or open wheel but will settle for anything.
Thanks in advance.
Even though I may not know you, I

Canyon races modifieds, sport mods, etc. the last two weekends of January, 1 PM races. Then on Feb. 2 Canyon will have stock car divisions plus I assume sprints. Then February 7-16 is the IMCA Arizona Mod Tour with the specific schedule forthcoming, but Arizona Speedway, Casa Grande, and Canyon are involved plus maybe one other. Casa Grande was considering doing something the last half of January but no word yet on that.
The Wild West Shootout at Arizona Speedway for six races to start January is a huge deal with some of the top late model drivers involved. Weekends at 5 PM and weekdays at 7 PM with large fields of all 3 divisions.
All of these tracks run a very efficient program. That makes 7 weeks of racing at the perfect time to be in Arizona.

be prepared for AZ in the winter. Last time I was in Yuma and at the races in January, it was 29 degrees, take your long johns and sweat shirts, gloves...
Ascot was the greatest of all time..
West Capital wasn't half bad either..
Life is good...

On January 24-26 Tucson Speedway ( paved short track oval  presents their 6th annual Chily Williy Super Late Model Special. Three nights of SLM racing with $ 10,000.00 to win on Saturday night. I went last year and really enjoyed it-- nice track and stands on the Southern part of the Tucson Area. Last year Noah Gragson ( NASCAR truck series and Xfiniti series driver ) won one of the two features held on Thursday. Great way to start the season-- I believe they had close to 50 good SLM's, also racing pavement trucks as a support class. Agree with NWFAN-- normally warm during the day BUT the desert evening temps really drop off-- come prepared with proper outerwear.

I appreciate the info and understand the cold comments. However its 14 degrees farenheit here in the day. Close to your zero at night. But I will pack more than the shorts. Winter well friends.

I can't believe that no one mentioned the Chili Bowl in Tulsa, Okla. Jan. 14 - 19, the best midget auto racing in the world. Then there's the Shootout Dec. 32st - Jan. 5th... great racing. Slightly smaller "midgets" with so much competition it is mind boggling. Over 1,000 entries - with many top named drivers usually competing. Definitely the jumping off stage for the next great drivers.
Long johns might be needed for outside but the racing and pits are all inside in t-shirt weather.... in January!!!

Carol 14, Please read the opening of this thread from Rodin Canada-- I didn't reralize Tulsa is now located in Central Arizona, in fact it's 1,100 miles from the area Rodin Canada was inquiring about !! P.S. I agree with you about the Chili Bowl offering great racing in shirt sleeve viewing conditions.

The winter heat races at Cocopah Speedway were great. It was alot better weather than the PNW and a nice facillity. I think it will take some serious peace pipe smoking to get that place back up and racing.
I hope they can put on some sprint car shows next winter.

Canyon Speedway Park will have a 2 day USAC/CRA Sprint Car show on March 8th and 9th. The Spring Showcase. Our Southwest USAC division is now 410's as well, and of course, they will be there. Could have some cars from the west coast division there too.
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.
