Hearing it is an Outlaw show.  Good to see another crown jewel be added.

I'd rather the WoO weren't involved, quite frankly. We need some races like this around the country where the non-outlaw drivers have a chance to steel the thunder. JMHO

Where did you hear that? Cody recieved a lot of priase from fans and teams for keeping the innagural version Non-WoO. If it goes to a WoO sanction, I'll be dissappointed.

The fans disguised as empty seats were very pleased it wasn’t an Outlaw show.

I'm sure that's true to some extent, but I couldn't make it because of the time of year.  With the change in schedule I actually have a shot of going.

So you may have have gotten a few more fans in the stands with a WoO sanction, but you would have had a lot fewer cars as well. I certainly wouldn't have gone had it had a WoO sanction, and won't go in future years if it does.

Cody, please keep this a non-snactioned show.

Agree and disagree with everyone at the same time.

1.  Outlaws will put more people in the stands.  Not really my opinion----has been proven all over the country when comparing Outlaw to Non-Outlaw shows.

2.  Probably will subtract some cars if Outlaws show up

3.  I also agree it is great to see this big purse and top prize going to a non-Outlaw team.

But, at the end of the day, they have to fill the seats with rear ends.  One thing thats consistent nationwide----the Outlaws fill seats with rear ends.

(BTW---this date may work for me and I would love to go and I am going to circle it on the calendar now!)

I love the idea of keeping it unsanctioned.

The cold weather hurt attendance, so moving it later in the spring is a good move, but who know what mother nature will throw at you.

Cody did a great job, and with some improvements will make better.

Fans of mediocre fields may be in luck, I read on another board that Mansfield was not on the prelim WOO schedule and there are in fact other races scheduled for then.

Dont know who is right or what can change. I love silly season.

Surely it couldn’t have been that it was 30 degrees outside that attendance may not have been that great.

"mediorcre fields" Lol.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather go to a race where 15-20 teams have a legitimate shot at winning vs 3 - 5 teams.

A field that included Tim Shaffer and Lance Dewease is not a "mediocre field" IMO.

When I walked out of a Mansfield Denny's at 5:00 that afternoon, it was sleeting outside.

Regarding your #1......how many non-outlaw $100,000.00 to win shows do you have for Outlaw to Non-Outlaw attendance comparisons?  I don't think there is an apples to apples event to compare the two. The Kings Royal event might be close for comparison. The 2018 KR had a field of just 51 cars. Take out the 14 or 15 (at that time) WoO drivers and the feild for the 2018 KR is around 37 cars.  The Al Stars have drawn over 50 cars at times to their Ohio events. Based on that the KR should be drawing 65.  Remove the WoO from the KR event and maybe 60+ cars do show up??  Hard to say, really.  If the Mansfield event can get a traditional annual event on the calender, we will have the answers to all the questions. One year isn't enough to go on. And last years weather was pretty miserable and was forecast that way several days in advance.

I agree......his post was worth a laugh. He's a diehard WoO fan and it's obvious. I predict if it remains non Outlaw this year that the car count will be much better than last year.  I think there were some drivers that weren't sure the deal would come off at all, so they didn't meet the early deadline for sign up. And as it drew near, the weather for sure kept many away. Those same things probably kept the fan count down too. Still, that was a pretty damn stout field of cars. And if dsc1600 wants to know the truth, a truely dismal field is one where only the WoO drivers show up, and all the "dismal" drivers stay away. That would be a dismal field. lol

Was talking only about spectator attendance.  I know the show would be good, so I would show.  You know the show would be good, so you would show.  Many won't go unless is an Outlaw show.  I know a few of those folks.

Your point is well taken on the fact that I don't have any apples to apples comparisons.  So, all we can do is see what the turnout is like if the weather is good next year.  Either way, I hope to make it!!!

I won't go if it is WOO sanctioned. Tired of them getting all the big paydays, bout time they leave some crumbs on the table for the non corporate sponsored teams. Might go if it is All Stars. #Leaveitbe

That night had to be the coldest race I ever went to !!!!
