CALIFORNIA LIGHTNING SPRINTS VS BCRA CIVIL WAR FINALE THIS WEEKEND!

(Torrance, CA, September 16) The California Lightning Sprint Cars/Bay Cities Racing Association annual “Civil War Series” will conclude this weekend with a pair of races at the Placerville Speedway on Friday and Saturday nights September 21st and 22nd.  Racing will begin at 6:30 each night.

The opening race in the three-race Civil War Series was held at the Bakersfield Speedway on June 16th and Jarrett Kramer of Spring Valley came away from that race with the point lead.  Much like the CLS regular season points chase, Camarillo’s Cody Nigh is chasing Kramer and comes into this weekend’s doubleheader 13 points behind the leader.  BCRA regular Kiwi Alexander of Visalia is third with CLS drivers Doug Nunes of Kingsburg and Dominic Del Monte fourth and fifth.

In addition to the points for the “Civil War” clash, the race will also pay regular season CLS points.  If drivers have any hope to catch point leader Kramer in that chase, they will have to make a move this weekend as after Saturday’s race, there will only be four races left in the year.  Going into this weekend’s shows, Kramer, who captured the CLS title in 2010, is carrying a hefty 237-point advantage over Nigh.  In third spot and 245-points behind the leader is two-time series champion Brent Sexton of Lakeside.  Two of the talented teenagers in the series, Dominic Del Monte of Gardena and Aiden Lange of Lakewood, trail Kramer by 293 and 317-points respectively.

For fans wishing to attend the races at Placerville, the track is located at 100 Placerville Drive in Placerville (95677).  The track website is at the following link https://www.placervillespeedway.com/ and the office phone is (530) 344-7592.
