Just wondering if the Grove or even Lincoln are going to due anything for season ticket holders so far the Grove has nine cancelations three being premier events World Of Outlaws not being made up .Plus I am sure there will be more before the season end .Hard to even consider a season pass for next year.

They probably won't do anything nor should they. Anyone who purchases a season pass knows that there's a risk that they could lose money if it ends up being a bad year for weather like this year has been. On the flip side, you also know that you might end up getting some free races out of it if they get most of their races in. It's just like any other gamble. You weigh your odds and hope luck is on your side. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.

If I want to gamble I will go to a Casino when I buy my season pass I expect to at least get my monies worth out of it ,when you are my age putting up money for anything that far in advande is taking a chance.

I dont even renew my Knoxville tickets until the last chance and I know that race will be run so far three $30 Outlaw shows have been cancelled and will not be made up that is a big hit towards the season ticket value.

Buying a season pass has always been a gamble and always will be. No one knows what the weather will be like 4 or 5 months in the future and you sure as hell can't control it. Most years you're probably going to do ok with a season pass but the risk of a year like this year always exists. So if you buy a season pass and they get every race in and you get a bunch of free races, do you think that you should have to pay the speedway extra money at the end of the year to make up for it? If it's too risky for you to buy a season pass, you still have the option to just pay for each race as individually each week.

If it's a Friday in South Central PA during racing season, there's a damn good chance it's going to rain.

It just seems like that's how it is.

Tried it once. Always a losing proposition. Pay as you go. Overall you will save money. I only go for reserved seating anymore as i have a ways to drive. Good to know i have seats although seemss like doesnt matter or may be a waste as folks who dont pay feel they have the right to sit there and track dont c12thare. Just want money.

I would imagine the track loses money too, so asking for a refund is adding insult to injury, no?

Your point is a valid one, it’s one of the reasons very few buy seasOn tickets and few go to races when the weather is iffy. Too many times feeling ripped off.

Not really, though you could say that......but it's more accurate to say that the track loses income from a rainout, except for the income of season passes, which broken down offers an average income for every scheduled event, ran or not. I've always thought that the business owner should be the one taking the risk, not the patron.

Tried it at Lincoln last year, spent $750.00 on 2 passes and lost out with the rainouts. Glad I didnt do it this year, that would be disaster. I have 5 reserved seats, least I know we  have a great place to sit.

I have bought several season passes for Port when I knew I was going to make every race. Broke even one years and came out ahead every other year. You don't make money on everything you do you try come ahead on average. The way Port always does things I alway thought it was worth the risk to not wait in ticket lines. This year I knew  would miss some so when they lost a few to start the season I didn't get one. I do never get it until the week I know they are going to get started.

Slighly off topic: Last time I went to the Grove (Speedweek) there were plenty of reserved seats open. I asked one guy who had at least 10 open seats reserved if I could move up. He said "No" Then the guys sitting near him said."Come on & sit up here". WTF??? Eventually I started talking to the "NO" guy & we were OK......share the damn empty seats!

So you bet on the weather and lost...if you don't like that, stop doing it.

The groves reserved seat policy is absurd. One, the reserved seat section is huge, two it’s impossible to order them online. so You have situations like last Friday where the place was packed and yet I was able to sit virtually anywhere I wanted to in the yellow section. I’d be happy to buy the ticket, but the grove seems fine with lost revenue.

About the open reserved seats at times. My family has eight at Port, somtimes they are all full. (there fifteen in our immediate family and there are nights when all fifteen of us are there) There are times when I feel bad about people looking for seats when some of ours are open but as the Grandfather I don't usually know who is going to show up and when. Say I tell someone you use these seats then another of my kids show late with the grandchildren then I have to say you have to move now we need the seats. Then there are nights like last night when there are only two in them but I never know when that will be.

Thats perfectly understandable. If you let me sit there &  your grandkid shoiwed up, i would gladly leave & thank you for the seat. I didn't ask until heats were over, figured that if anyone was showing up, they'd be there already

Right. And its hit or miss as to when they will be there to answer the phone. But when they answer, they're pretty helpful (oh yea, we want to sell tickets....)

Agreed, it's way too big. When the top half of the bleachers are mostly empty because they are all reserved - apparently by people who don't show up, that's a little bit ridiculous. Of course I also know people who reserve way more seats than they ever use just to have more space/leg room. I'm old enough to remember when only the top couple of rows were reserved and the tracks didn't sell more resered seats than that - the way it should be IMO.
