I have to give a shout out and a thank you to my good friend Freddie Kain. To many here in the midwest there where 3 main chassis builders Kain, Trostle and McCarl which each is awesome and my father and I have been lucky enough to know all three of em. I have had a 29' model A since I was 8 years old, after watching American Graffiti My father found and bought me a 29 that was here in town. A 29' was the closest we could get to the 32' that John Milner drove in the movie I always thought i could come close to a rip-off of the car but then decided to do something that nobody has really tried. I just decidied that after the last Goodguys event where it seemed like everyone had the same car/frame combo just with different colors. Being one that was raised with Sprint Car racing and Drag racing I figured we could combine the two, now retired my father owned C&C Automotive which was seen on a few hoods back in the day at Knoxville that they had painted and been involved with, owned and sponsored. My father and I stopped by to say hello to Freddie a few months bac to see what he was up to as he lives here in the south side of Des Moines. It was at that time he told me after 20 years of me pestering him he finally agreed to build my 29' Sprint/Rod. Not even two months later its just about ready for final welding but sports a 1 1/2 full tube frame with cage its in a sprint car construction with top and bottom rails, 30" torsion bar suspension with crossbars, a full sprint 52" front axle, a Winters live axle rear end , coupled to a 400 turbo trans. and bolted up to a injected 406 when finished. And Sprint wheels and tires at all four corners. Its gonna really gonna be something and I cant say thank you enough to Fred that even in his 70's his imagination, fabrication and welding are outstanding. We are kinda keeping the project under raps but when finished I promise to post some pictures.

Hoosiers, Goodyears or Firestones on it?

Probably Goodyears or Hoosiers all the way around it cracks me up its gonna be built to go straight but in all seriousness it could be set up to turn a lap around a half mile in the dirt. Totally wild concept in street rodding Smile

It sounds like a neat hot rod. That live axel is going to make going around a turn a little tuff. I'd be lookin' for a differential to put in it like a tru track or equivelent. Be sure to post some pictures when it's ready for viewing. Ya' going to put an on-board in it or push it off?

Oh it will have a starter Offie no fun tryin to find a push truck tryin to get to work or in front of your favorite cruise jointsSmile The live axle issue is nothin that bothers me to much the car will weigh next to nothing. It may be a little catchy around corners but Hoosier makes a DOT legal quick time its called I run on my 68' Camaro thats tubbed, it runs a spool 4:88 gears and Hoosier 31x 18.50's and it goes around corners just like its got a posi or traction lock in it, now pushing its a different story then again they are both running Chevrolet's you dont have to push em as much as those Fords Smile

Can you post some pictures of your project? I love the model A bodies with a sprint type nose and hood.

P.S. Never mind, just read the rest of your post. I'll wait until the grand unveiling.
