Leaving shortly to get a head start. Good Luck to our Northern California guys.

Why don't the non wing fans go on message boards and ask if any of the non wing guys are gonna put a wing on the same way they always ask if the wing guys are gonna take off their wings for a non wing show.

I'm not looking forward to seeing that announcer down there after his redwings beat the Sharks last night. Ouch.

Don't get me started on the most moronic coach in the NHL (Ron Wilson), one of the dumbest in ownership (Greg Jamison), and the most anemic captain (Patrick Marleau) in ages...

The Sharks now have fewer wins at home (none) than Columbus (2). Yes, the season's early, but the lethargy that Marleau, Wilson, Mediocre Marcie Goc and the crew showed during last year's disappointing playoff meltdown is back in full force.

Okay, rant over. wink

The only time I root for a red wing is when Forsberg's running one on the #92.

Funny you should mention that Carwash.... years ago when the WoO ran the PAS I asked both Shuman & Griffin why they don't throw a wing on a take a shot at a good payday. Their answer surprised me... I thought they were going to say the car was too different or hard to change but they both said they didn't have enough motor to run with the Outlaws. The Gasman even said he would like to & was surprised by my question & I think he was wondering if I was going to offer him a motorSmile

Acouple of reasons - cost; probably about $1200 bucks to change over a non-wing car to a wing car, figuring on a top wing, nose wing, wing ram and plumbing, along with incidental costs...

And the motor is indeed a factor, a non-wing car can run a less powerful motor simply because a non wing car just doesn't hook up as much as a wing car.

Why invest the bucks for a one or two off show, and most likely end up racing for non-qualifiers money of $150 or less? Yes, the payoff is much better if you can win, but, really, what are the odds?

Sharks chat!!! I love it!.... They looked much better on sat against nashville, but I was looking for a much better start to this season..And i always thought red wings were something to do with a poorly timed sex act.......GO SHARKS

Marcel Goc being scratched might've had something to do with a better overall team effort. Still, Nashville lost a lot of pieces from last year's roster (possibly as a result of the overall turmoil surrounding that franchise, with the possible moves elsewhere being bandied about).

Nice to hear the Sharks won last night. Hard to judge the performance though against Nashville, that team is really a mess for the reasons mentioned.

The PAS turned out to be a good show. Madsen ran a great race. Solwold was fast. The battle from second to seventh was a good one with positions changing many times. Paulie was running side by side with Schatz. Meyers and Lasoski had some battles going. Joey was up there for a while but faded.

TK and Allard didn't qualify well, I think both started in the fourth row of their heats and the both pulled off the transfer. Then they started 23rd and 24th in the A. Turns one and two were good with most running up high and some getting around the bottom well. 3 and 4 weren't as racey and that was the only downside. No reds, only a couple of yellows.

Two laps for qualifying so I guess there was no need to save the track. Modified as the support class put on a good race.

Scott D. handled the announcing for the modifieds and the time between races, and Johnny G. did the WoO. Worked out pretty well. Got to talk a little hockey with Scott after the races.

Went over the grapevine last night and saw the Castaic fire burning. Good thoughts to the folks down that way who are in danger and those fighting the fires.

Spent the night in Lebec, headed out this morning and just north of Lost Hills a woman in a Nissan Sentra drifted off the road, over-corrected and got upside down. Four or five rolls in all. I was about 100 yards behind her. Called 911 before she came to a stop. I pulled to the side of the road and thought sure she was gone. As I was getting out of my car, she was getting out of hers. Two scratches, one on her hand, one on here wrist. She WAS wearing her seatbelt. Below is a photo of her car.

Please friends, when you get in your car, buckle up.

I have to add a shout out to Mike Mossi, making the long haul from Petaluma with his open trailer.
