(12/4/17) The recently renovated Jackson Motorplex 4/10-mile oval welcomes MSTS 360 sprint cars nine times in 2018. Four of those dates will be run under the Midwest Power Series banner and will include the Nebraska 360 series as well and will pay $2,500 to win and $400 to start on May 25, June 22, July 13 and Aug. 17. The other five MSTS 360 shows at Jackson Motorplex will all pay $400 to start in 2018. The RaceSaver sprints and the NSL non-wing sprints will also be in competition for these nine events.
There will be numerous 410 Outlaw Sprint Cars events highlighted by the 40th annual AGCO Jackson Nationals, which showcases the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series June 7-9 and pays $40,000 to win and $3,000 to start the finale.
The Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series makes its first-ever visit to Jackson Motorplex on Wednesday, July 18. The 50-lap main event pays $10,000 to win.
The ABDO Fair race will feature Tony Stewart's ARCTIC CAT All Star Circuit of Champion sprints on Friday July 27th and pay $10,000 to win. RaceSaver sprints and the NSL non-wings will also be in competition.
The Fall Classic will be a three-day event on Labor Day Weekend – Aug. 31 to Sept. 2 – that will showcase the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour all three nights, NSL non-wing sprint cars the opening night and 410 Outlaw Sprint Cars the final two nights.
RaceSaver sprints and NSL non-wing sprints will be showcased with a special season finale event on Sept. 21-22.
The season-opening Iowa Great Lakes Shootout is slated for May 11 and will feature 410 Outlaw Sprint Cars, Heartland Steel RaceSaver sprints and NSL non-wing sprints.

Am I reading this right that there is no fender cars at all racing at Jackson in 2018?

There might be a few specials but currently our schedule consists of (19) nights of all sprint cars and the Lucas Oil Late Models event on July 18th...z

If I'm reading this correctly it looks like you will only have 2 classes of cars each night of the Fall Classic.
Thank you for that if that is the case. Too many classes of cars for special shows is not good. When you have a special show (ASCS, WoO, ASCOC) 1 support class is enough.
I was at the ASCS show this fall the night of the "nostalgia" demonstration races. I understand having those drivers and cars at the track sometime during the year but during the ASCS races (with 410's) was not the time to have them there.
I absolutely hate being at the track until 2 AM to see the race that I paid to see.
Oh, while I'm on the subject of late nights at the track. If you are planning on "farming" the track during intermission you need to have another rotary harrow so you can be working both ends of the track simultaneously.
The night I was there it was absolutely the right call to rework the track but it needs to be done faster. Especially since you had another $250,000 Agco tractor sitting on the infield doing nothing while one tractor/harrow was on the track.

Be the best show all season, a far cry from the same ol' follow the leader routine sprint show.
To be honest, I love ALL dirt racing. It's awesome that one of the two biggest late model series has actually chosen to schedule an event this far north. Usually it's only the WOO lates that come this far up on their season schedule.
Add, that late model shows tend to be much more competitive than sprint shows. Just the way it is.
You sit in the stands all night waiting for the A main no matter the type of cars on the track, but all too often in sprints you end up with a slam-bam thank you mam 25-30 lap follow the leader A feature or someone makes a mistake early on and takes out a 1/4 or more of the field. I've seen many more competitive A-Mains in late model racing over the years, especially when you talk about someone coming from way back in the pack to win. Understand as well that they(lates) usually are running 50 to 100 lap A-Mains compared to the 25-30 lap routine sprint A features.
In the end, to each their own, I just can't stand it when fans of either slam the other.
Love em' all the same, positives to enjoy in both types of racing, especially when it's on DIRT.

Promoters don't think Sprint Cars or Late Models. No promoter in their right mind would limit their tracks appeal to only half of their potential customers. I don't like every movie that comes out at my local theater but I don't expect them to only show the ones I approve of. I've seen a ton of Sprint shows at Jackson but I've also been to many USA Nationals so I might run down there for the Late Models.
