I bought this tail tank cover at an auction in Pennsylvania today. I have no idea what car it came from, no idea who the driver might have been. It is a tank cover NOT a fuel cell. All graphics are painted on. It is too large to be from a midget.
Any help with the ID is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I seem to remember a driver by the name of Jerry Kurtz that ran in Central PA in the 70's-80's. I believe #41 was his number.

Also... Kramer Williamson ran the #41 Apple House car. I believe both that car and Jerry Kurtz's were blue/white themed.

Apple House numbers were yellow. Kramer's brother George (GW Signs) may have an answer.

Shuttlesworth #41 was always black with green from what I remember(sportsman and sprints). Jeff Shepard, Jim Nace and probably others ran their 410. I think their sportsman and 358 were white a few times but I don't think they were ever blue.

Take it easy there Ilikeposse, sprint cars existed before you were born.
Look in your history books, prior to roughly 1980, Sprint Cars, which had already been around for many decades had aluminum, steel or plastic fuel tanks with an extra aluminum or fiberglass decorative shell (cover) that gave us the well known Sprint Car tail tank look. Although in this case, with the poor resolution of the photo, it's hard to tell it from an older FBI tail tank shell. It's in pretty good shape if it is a fiberglass tail shell.

It is a FBl cover. Thanks for correcting the "rookie".

I think the sportsman car that might match this tank is pictured on this webpage - scroll 2/3 of the way down - left column, shown with the 71 of Wolford and 2K of Timmy Kuhn ...you can see the wing of a blue #41 but no name is listed.

the blue 41 in this photo is confirmed to be Shuttlesworth by a Silver Springs historian...1080 is his nickname
not certain the item pictured above matches this car or not...

Don Kimberling ran a blue and white 41 late 60's early 70's, but I think his car was white with blue numbers.

Thanks for the picture BRR. That is definitely the car my tank cover came from. Now to find the driver's name. Thanks again.

Boy, I miss that place. Anyone notice going down on the left side, 2 cars coming out of the corner with the SNOW scrapped to the infield berm. The flea market at the end of the year was the mark that the season was over abd you better get working on cars for next year. On to the Miss AARN show. Heck that isn't what it used to be either.
