Jumped the start in the heat twice at Grandview. Got sent back 1 row. Threw a temper tantrum at the end of the heat because he couldn't pass any cars. Makes my opinion even more solid that he's always been a crybaby.

Damn these guys and their passion for racing.  How dare he show emotion either with himself for jumping or just in general being frustrated...probably the first driver ever to show displeasure/emotion/cry/tantrum/whatever on the race track.  That's all sarcasm in case it doesn't read like it.

Dude, you obviously don't like Danny to begin with, right?  So you take the opportunity to consciously post a thread about him being a crybaby.  Totally your right to a) not like him (or anyone) and b) post a thread about it.  Absiolutely your right.  But 1) if you think he's the first guy to ever throw a tantrum at the track then you may want to look into a lobotomy and 2) if he's a crybaby, what does that make someone who, again, purposefully opens their computer, turns on the computer, opens an internet browser, puts hoseheadforums into said browser, signs in and makes an entire new thread based on your least favorite driver throwing a temper tantrum after a heat race at a Thursday night ASCOC race?  Again, your right to do all that, but damn dude go to the races and enjoy spending a night out seeing badasses propel a rocket ship down a dirt track.  Laugh off Danny's temper tantrum and be glad you got to see some sprint car racing.  Life's bigger than pointing out everytime your least favorite driver acts like a "crybaby" (your words).

Agreed. I'm tired of all this "he said, she said" soap opera stuff....

Nickrules. WELL SAID. I go to the races anymore to see a good race. I really don't care who the h*ll wins. Double D has been known to do that for a long time and it's best to just laugh about it. I guess he watched to much of fast freddie in his day spout his mouth off in victory circle. But, i laughed at him too.

I  get the impression from following DD on Twitter that he tries to be a pot stirrer of the PT Barnum variety.  He's a little off his rocker and it is probably his personality anyway, but I think he is very much from the school of, "no publicity is bad publicity", and "controversy generates interest."

I'm not saying he doesn't actually believe the things he says, I'm sure he does, but I also get the impression that he does the things he does to generate attention (good or bad): ie his Rahmer "feud," his calling out Montieth for not leaving WG and Lincoln, his Twitter back and for with the Swindells, Deweases, and Krietz's, are part truth and part just trying to generate interest by stirring the pot.

I've been to MANY races in central PA watching DD race, so I think I have a right to have an opinion about it, but I'm not the only one who thinks that about him. Just the only who posted about it on here, so far. It wasn't only last night. I understand he has passion for racing, but don't cry like a 3 year old child when things don't go your way. Even when people race him hard he pisses and moans about it.

Then take your own damn advice and don't cry like a 3 year old on the internet when a driver doesn't act like YOU think he should.

This is my point. Ironic that someone is writing on the internet about a heat of the moment sporting activity. IMO a "heat of the moment" crybaby (in this instance DD) is far less egregious than someone who takes several steps to achieve their goal of crying on the internet. Either way I just think the OP should laugh it off at the moment, cheer for his fav driver and enjoy a night at the track. If the OP still considers making threads as his way of handling the situation, eh to each his/her own. You do you. Just make sure you enjoy life bud. If the worst thing that happened during your night at the track is you got upset because DD was "crying" that's a heckuva good night. Perspective homie.

DD is definitely a pot stirrer and a polarizing driver, but that's good for the sport and DD is definitely passionate about the sport. Also, my personal interactions at the track with DD have always been cordial and friendly. He definitely is interactive and amiable with fans, especially kids. Very approachable.

I agree. The funny thing about DD, he puts on twitter the exact things that are said in the pits between the folks owning, working on and driving these things. What is missing from what DD's tweets are the laughing and smiling that go on during these conversations. If people really knew how much fun we made of ourselves and others they might think differently about DD's tweeting.

By the way, until you have been within a 3-4 trailers of a Sammy meltdown you have not seen anything. I have seen a couple of his and they were simply legendary. Hewitt was another guy that was great at melting down. You just wanted to make sure you were out of arms reach, you may catch an errant fist.

Nickules, I don't know you but I think you are from the Central Ohio area. Wouldn’t mind meeting you sometime.

+1 Nickules.  Good advice that more people should take, considering all the crap going on in 'Murica right now.  Work hard, play hard, enjoy your life, family, work, sports, whatever.  Just stop arguing and yelling all the time.

Jumped the start in the heat twice at Grandview. Got sent back 1 row. Threw a temper tantrum at the end of the heat because he couldn't pass any cars. Makes my opinion even more solid that he's always been a crybaby.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but my thought is pretty simple. Cry babies don't run up front! Cry babies run around wondering what the hell the rest of the world knows that they don't! Some drivers wear their passion on their sleeves, while others carry it quietly within. I've seen many a driver show his passion in a manner that I might not approve of, but who the hell am I to label it?! And, who the hell am I to judge it?! I've also seen the times when I'd thought a driver should show his "passion" outwardly to a ruling or another driver, but he didn't. My thought then turns to the fact that if a driver accepts something and he seems cool with it.....he's dealing with it in his own way. I'm just glad this sport I enjoy involves a lot of passion, on both sides of the fence!

DD forgot he wasn't running under Knoxville/Woo officials!

On a serious note:

Oh the irony of you anonymously sitting behind a computer screen whining about someone "whining". At least DD isn't hiding. Also something to chew on. How many times have we seen driver like Rahmer, Earnhard, Sammy and a couple others rightfully/wrongly dump other drivers and fans cheered about it?  That was them throwing a tantrum and coasting people money and risking injury. I'd rather have some yelling then torn up equipment and drivers.t

Of course you have a right to your opinion. Maybe DD has a big mouth. I don't care. Nobody's perfect, I'm not looking to be these guys friend or hang out with them. I just like to watch them race

Hewitt's disagreements are legendary.  He wasted little time once the race was over to let someone know what his feelings were for them.

Legendary words like "He can kiss my d@$k"! Hilarious. Can you imagine someone saying that on live TV these days??

Double D is nothing but an emotional WINNER, heavy accent on the winning part.  If it doesn't go the way one wants then you can be an emotional non-winner and act out, why hold back?  I'm sure he's confident in his abilities and racing needs a few more or many more like him, have at it Mr. Dietrich and keep driving to the front....

Freddie Rahmer is a chip off the old block, he was very impressive taking the checkers last night,,,,

The Acorn doesn;t fall far from the tree I was never a fan of his daddy but I can respect racers...  Faster Freddie Rahmer [area 51] doesn't seem like the  shit stirer like his pop
