Smith Outduels Kratzer for NCRA Late Model Victory!
Park City, Kansas – June 18, 2017 - Delbert Smith and two-time and defending series champion Chris Kratzer waged a race long battle for the lead against each other and in the end it was Smith picking up his second series victory of the season as the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products crate late model division made a Father’s Day appearance at 81 Speedway in Park City on Sunday night.
Smith and Kratzer started on the front row for the twenty-lap feature with both drivers trading the lead throughout the feature finale. Smith would finally hold on to take the victory over Kratzer while Dan Smith came home third. Seventh starting Dusty Leonard came home fourth while Damian Patocka rounded out the top five.
The two heat races for the four the fourteen-car field were won by Delbert Smith and Kratzer.
The next event for the NCRA Crate Late Model division will be held on Monday night, July 3, at the Belleville High Banks in Belleville, Kansas where Delbert Smith will take his two-race win streak and a fifteen point lead over Kratzer in the early-season point standings.
