John Kearney was one of my favorite drivers when he was in a 360 at Knoxville. Always wondered what happened with him or if he was still racing.

Tony Norem in the B1st car was another favorite. Is he still racing?

In regards to John Kearny, dug up an article from 2009 on Knoxville's website regarding hall of fame inductees. Says in the last sentence of the paragraph on John "Driving his own equipment in 2008, John won the final race of his career." So he's done racing according to that.

As far as the B1st car, here is a post from the now Seidenkranz brothers racing facebook page from August of last year.

"The Seidenkranz Brothers have thoroughly enjoyed owning a sprint car and have appreciated all of the support shown by those who follow and participate in this sport. Following Tony’s crash on June 25, at Deer Creek Speedway, we decided it was time to step away from the sport.

Tony Norem is now in the process of putting together a new race car and race team. We wish his team all the best as they begin this process. A new B1st Racing Facebook page will be available so that you are able to follow Tony and his new crew. Please look for it and remember to like it when you visit. We have also learned that Tony and his new team will enter their first race at Princeton, on August 19, at the Billy Anderson Memorial."

Also, per Ruthie Seidenkranz facebook comment in February this year on the same Seidenkranzs Brothers racing page: "Tony will continue the B1st tradition this year with his own nonwing car. We know he will be fun to watch and wish he and his partner Dave all the best for a great year."

Hope that helps you know where they are! Also, it looks like the Seidenkranzs Brothers are building a car from scratch for this season, don't know who'll be driving it though. You can copy and past the following link for more information on it.. >>> https://www.facebook.com/B1stRacing/

The last time I talked to him (which has been a long time ago), he said he needed to concentrate on raising his daughter and run the family business. He also mentioned how it wasn't as fun after his dad passed away. John was an awesome guy and a great racer. I miss him often. His wife Bobbi was a lot of fun also. I hope he and his family are doing well.

I believe John was in the pits at Knoxville a couple times last season and the season before just helping other drivers and talking to people.  A competitor that was admired and respected by those he raced against (very similar to things you hear about Clint Garner today).

Kearney wanted to get out of racing because his daughter was into softball and wanted to watch her play.  I think she was/is on a traveling team and he didn't want to miss her games.

I know her High School team won the Kansas 1a-2a State championship last year Im not sure if she is a senior or not, I think he pretty much just runs the family construction biz now.
