Wasn't there, but I heard they had 17 cars and Mike Moore won starting from the rear.......guess that's not a bad first night......don't know what they're paying......we had 30 Racesavers at Eagle with another 10-12 cars accounted for (some of which were running 360's at Park Jeff and some not ready yet) that were'nt there........SC

Someone told me they are paying $300 to win and $75 to start.  That  seems really low?

Unless things have changed, that looks like a standard Racesaver payout.

2 other IMCA weekly tracks (Arlington, MN & Park Jefferson, SD) only are paying $400 to win.

so, by my count that makes 40+ 305's in central IA Saturday night between Boone and Knoxville.  Considering most of the Knoxville cars are now running Crate engines seems that the pipeline for future 360 and 410 cars is good currenlty.

The RaceSavers are glad to have somewhere to race after fairgrounds shutdown. They basically pay their own purse with pitpasses which is a the way many of the lower classes work.I have a question about the KnoxVille spec engine for 305s.Cost,cubic in, and H.P.? thanks

I'm not a gear-head, but isn't the answer to the cubic inch question 305?

No idea.  I do know that they get them from Pace Performance in OH.

What is also interesting is the CT 525 is a legal engine option in the UMSS a Minnesota based 360 group. ASCS legal engines are also and option.

If your talking about the pace motor, only one I know of is Bridger. His blew in feature and pace is working with them to get them back on track this weekend

I actually talked to the people at Pace and was very impressed. He thought there were 14 crate motors at Knoxville.Intersting that they are all aluminum and run a carb with restrictor plate.Thought they should run 60 nights plus before freshining and rebuild was reasonable. The 305 motors were too expensive and this makes a sensible alternative.I look for the 305 class to have more cars than the 410s most everynight except when travelers show up and I dont know if they need them on those nights.

I am the guy that owns the CT525 engine running with the UMSS this year.  We don't run the Knoxville restrictor and this engine has 587 Hp, 7200 RPM chip and should be good for at least 80 shows before needing freshened.  You are correct that it won't compete with the big $ ASCS motors out there.  It will more than compete with the average ASCS motors if the right driver was in this car and not me Smile  We are running this engine with the winged UMSS 360s, I could get the restrictor and run the knoxville 305 class and I am also currently running it with the UMSS Traditional non wing class by switching to a 2 barrel carb, different sealed MSD box set up from PACE that drops the HP to 390 and swapping the 50" front end to a 52" front end. Takes me about an hour to convert between the wing and non wing classes and would take me 10 minutes to convert it to the knoxville 305.

Racedoc, very cool good luck! I ran a couple races with the UMSS a few years back and a hand full of 360 races around mn, SD, and Iowa also...wish it wasn't so expensive to put a car on the track.

Great information right from the mouth of the horse. RaceDoc is no horse though, I believe he had a win in the traditional class a couple years back.

Must be only at that track or region. This is straight off the PASS/IMCA Procedure and Waiver Form. - "Regular Purse is $300 to win; 150 to start, PASS is commited to a fair purse structure. Special Races can have higher win amounts, but must be approved by IMCA"
