See many USAC sprint and midget shows at Ventura coming in 2017. Good grief! don't get any better than this! Means I only have to drive 42 miles to see a great show. Perris puts on good shows, but it is 100 miles away and this old fart does not feature driving 100 miles at night. Will miss the Perris parking lot liars club tho. This means Rutherford, aka "anybody but " will like this. Now if we could get a couple of wing shows at Ventura I could save the 160 mile drive to Tulare. Will make the Outlaw show at Tulare in any case. Those who whine about the Outlaws at Perris need to see the Outlaws at Tulare.

Enjoy Ventura as well. Great sprint shows there. As far as Tunderbowl, race track has been widened in corners prior to T-cup last year. Fewer crashes and sliders too.  Takes an hour to Ventura, two hours for Tulare. By far Thunderbowl raceway is the best sprint car track in California (IMO). Been to many here and, head and shoulders above is Tulare. Winged or traditional sprints. That track is bad ass. Santa Maria is 15 min. so we make those sprint shows when not against Tulare or Naylor's bigger sprint shows. Great schedules at these tracks for 2017. Gonna be a great season for us in central California.

"By far Thunderbowl raceway is the best sprint car track in California" Buddy I could'nt have said it better! Steve Faria has done a terrific job at that joint. To slide down the grapevine heading for Tulare or Hanford is almost an orgasmic delight. Well maybe not, but as we used to say skiing "not quite as good as sex, but it lasts longer". Perris is a great track but it is a Gulag compared to Norcal tracks. BTW Tulare and Hanford each have Black Bear eateries that have killer fish and chips, and Ventura has Danny's Deli for the best burgers, better than In'Out without the waiting.

There's a KWS/NARC (haven't heard that for a while!) at the dirt track at Kern County Raceway on April 8 for those who don't want to go the extra miles to Tulare or points north. I got tired of all the turn one wrecks at the Thunderbowl that seemed related to the rut dug at the entrance to turn one, a result of cars crossing the track diagonally from the bottom to the pit entrance at the top, just at the entrance to one.  Not easily remedied, but it makes for a long night and a lot of tore up cars along with banged up drivers.

If you made last year's T.cup you would've noticed a dramatic improvement in turn one and in corner passing all together as corners have been widened by 15' as I recall. Moreover, that place has steel plate for a catch fence. What dose this say? Only the best need come. And Thunderbowl never disappoints. If you like fast, thrilling and the best drivers in the country racing sprint cars, Thunderbowl is the place.
