A new era begins at Chowchilla Speedway

Joe Diaz and Kris Koontz a.k.a. J&K Racing are pleased to announce that they have signed a 5 year contract to promote Chowchilla Speedway beginning in 2017. Between them, they bring over 80 years experience in Motorsports, Promoting and Track Prep. Joe started racing in the mid 50's at Belmont speedway driving a 1936 Dodge. Over the years he has competed in and won in almost every form of Motorsports, both 2 and 4 wheel winning multiple championships along the way. He also has many years Promoting the highly successful Chowchilla Barnburner series as well as many other events ,both in and outdoors and is known as one of the elite track prep men in the country.
Like Joe, Kris Koontz brings many years experience in Motorsports and has a wealth of knowledge in dirt prep. His Racing Career includes both 2 and 4 wheel classes and he is a former Chowchilla Speedway Spec Sprint Champion along with being a well known car owner. Kris owns and operates Kris Koontz Construction, based in Coarsegold, Ca. and has the knowledge and equipment to ensure that Chowchilla Speedway will have a great racing surface for years to come. The first event is scheduled for Sunday March 12 with a 5 division show featuring 360 winged sprints, non-wing Spec Sprints and Micro 600's. Just added are the Vintage Supermodifieds and Vintage Sprint Cars. In keeping with the affordable Family Philosophy Pit Fees will be $40.00 for car and driver, $30.00 Pit Pass with general admission $10.00 for adults, $7.00 Seniors and Military, children 6-12 $5.00 and under 6 free. Payoff will be the same day upon completion of the program.

Additionally, we are striving to make Chowchilla Speedway a Family friendly facility  where fighting for any reason on the fairgrounds property WILL NOT be tolerated. Anyone caught fighting will be escorted from the property and permanently barred from returning EVER.........NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
