A quick glance through the Area Auto Racing News this week in the classifides section, it appears our favorite meassage board "expert" Robert Altman is attempting to resurrect his failed Racing Fans Direct into the new Racing Fans Wordwide with a trip to Kokomo for Smack Down in August. As a former member of his Pa. Posse Fans Association and seeing how he conducted business and bad mouthed other area tracks as well as a particular national series please beware and avoid dealing with Mr. Altman.

Well, well, well...look what we have here. $800 for tickets & hotel accomodations without any transportation...you gotta be kidding me! Unless the complimentary items & visitors guide to the travel destination of Kokomo add up to about $400 you are really take people to the cleaners. I would surely hope no one is naive enough to fall for this scam! Geez Robert are you that desperate!?

That's vintage Altman. For people who wonder why us folks from Central PA who have been around long enough to have seen him operate over the years, are so hard on him, right here is why. I never understood exactly what his organizations are even trying to offer. All of us race fans are perfectly capable of making arrangements to attend a race so why the hell would any of us feel the need to go through him? Autograph sessions? Hardly. Before and after the races, you can get damn near any autograph you want. I'm not an autograph hound but I've had a few diecasts and shit signed and I acted 100% on my own. I don't blame the guy for trying to make a buck but his business model or whatever you want to call it, makes about as much sense as his rambling messageboard posts. Perhaps the poster who unfortunately joined one of his clubs years ago can elaborate further but I've personally never seen the point in what he offers. Throw in his uncalled for bashing of any track (mainly Williams Grove and Lincoln) that required him to pay a vendor fee to do business on Speedway property and that pretty much says it all.

Not to be confused with "Prestige Worldwide" although the similarities are quite numerous......

I joined his Pa. Posse fan deal the very first year he tried it. It seemed like a good idea at first but shortly after joining and engaging in a few coversations with this clown it was the last year of ever giving him a dime. Other than maybe a discount here and there it was nothing but a few driver autograph sessions. Which as you said any race fan is perfectectly capable of obtaining an autograph on there own time. It was just unbelieveable listening to him piss and moan about the Grove and Lincoln constantly about wanting to charge him a fee to set a table up. Years after if he ever ran into us while walking around he still continued to bitch about the Grove, Lincoln and the World of Outlaws. It quite honestly would ruin your night after speaking to him for a few minutes.

I remember him cornering my friend's mother at Port Royal years ago and going on and on about how Lincoln and Williams Grove wanted to charge him a fee and basically the same bullshit you just described. I was 11 or 12 at the time but even I realized something was off so I know exactly what you're talking about. I really don't understand how anyone can have a problem with a business wanting you to pay them for the privilege of you doing business on their property during business hours. It takes a real special level of idiocy I suppose.

Now those of us not from the PA racing area are able to get a better understanding of this guy.....he's a kook! LMAO! Does he not understand that Lincoln, Williams Grove, the WoO, etc....... have a huge investment of money in the crowds they attract to their racing events? And he expects them to let him have free access to those crowds? Maybe if he tried to get free space at a shopping mall he'd begin to understand how it works. Race tracks, like shopping malls, arent public service facilities for vendors trying to make a buck, they are business'. That they charge fees for space is plain old common sense. Again, what a kook!

I was not going to reply to this thread , but my integrity as a person , has been so criticized and has hurt me so much by these people on here that I had no other choice but to reply . I can only say to viewers of this message board please don't believe all you read about me , secondly I love racing , LOVE ALL FANS , have devoted my life to doing things purely for you. And yes, to the many who wish we off this message board , I will not longer be starting or replying to these threads . I wish you all well and have much success in all your endeavors and in life .

Sadly Robert has said before he was no longer starting posts or replying to posts but he has never kept his word. He will be back.
I am very inclined to believe those who have had dealings with him in the past. The best thing he could do for racing is stay home. Getting stuck sitting by someone like Altman is enough to make a casual fan stop attending races.

You are 100% correct. He will find a way to conveniently appear again when the time is right to take potshots at the Grove, Lincoln or World of Outlaws.

You guys have to quit feeding the troll. He wants attention, no matter if it's positive or negative. I agree with all of your assessments of him, but he'll feed off of the comments either way.
