USAC National Micro Sprint Series
UNITED STATES AUTO CLUB CROWNS SIX NATIONAL MICRO SPRINT CHAMPIONS

JANUARY 3, 2017... After a successful inaugural season, six drivers with the USAC National Micro Sprints have earned the title of champion. These drivers were honored at the December 9th USAC “Night of Champions” in Indianapolis, Indiana and will also be celebrated at the January 28th USAC Western Awards Banquet in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Opening with victories on April 15th (Visalia, CA) and May 7th (Dixon, CA), Jake Hagopian claimed top honors with the MF Motorsports USAC Super 600s. The Fresno, California driver also scored Visalia triumphs on August 20th, August 26th, and September 2nd. For his efforts, Hagopian earned a one race deal next season with MF Motorsports in USAC Western States Midget competition. In addition, the young driver received a $2,000 discount on a Maxwell Industries shock dyno. Trevor Years finished second in points and Kyle Morrow ran third in the standings.
Josh Ames won the Cory Kruseman’s Sprint Car & Midget Driving School USAC Non-Wing 600 championship. The Rochester, New York driver took the checkered flags at Caledonia’s Limerock Speedway on May 7th, May 21st, and August 20th. By claiming the title, Ames earned a session at Cory Kruseman’s Sprint Car & Midget Driving School and a $2,000 discount on a shock dyno from Maxwell Industries. Alex Trautman took third in the point chase and Jimmy Leal ranked third.
Joey Ancona bested Garth Kasiner and Brody Fuson to claim the Light Up The World Beverages USAC Restricted 600 crown. The Concord, California hard charger had a great season by scoring wins at Visalia (April 15th, June 25th, August 26th, September 2nd, September 3rd) and Dixon (May 7th). For his efforts, Ancona earned $250 and 40 bottles of water from Light Up The World Beverages, a session at Cory Kruseman’s Sprint Car & Midget Driving School, and a $2,000 discount on a Maxwell Industries shock dyno.
Shawn Freeland earned top honors with the Cory Kruseman’s Sprint Car & Midget Driving School USAC 270s. After having five runner-up finishes, the Scottsville, New York driver broke through to claim victory at Limerock on August 20th. In addition to the championship trophy, Freeland earned a session at Cory Kruseman’s Sprint Car & Midget Driving School and a $2,000 discount on a Maxwell Industries shock dyno. Kylee Porath ran second and George Stymus placed third in the point chase.
Jordan Jermyn outdueled Zachary Beiber to win the Cory Kruseman’s Sprint Car & Midget Driving School USAC 125 championship. The Irondequoit, New York driver opened his campaign with three straight Limerock wins on May 7th, May 15th, and May 21st. For taking top honors, Jermyn will receive a $2000 discount on a Maxwell Industries shock dyno and 40 bottles of water from Light Up The World Beverages.
In the Maxwell Industries USAC Junior Sprint class, Caeden Steele of Fresno, California won the title. After scoring wins at Visalia on April 15th, May 15th, August 20th, and August 26th, Steele held off Gauge Garcia and Drew Mowry in the standings. For taking the championship, the young driver will receive a session at Cory Kruseman’s Sprint Car & Midget Driving School and a $2,000 discount on a Maxwell Industries shock dyno.
Thanks to Maxwell Industries, drivers that finished second in championship points for all six divisions will get a $1,500 discount on a shock dyno. Third place drivers in the final standings will receive a $1,000 shock dyno discount.
