The season finale is almost here at St. Francois County Raceway!!! The annual Queens Royale will take place next Saturday, October 6 in Farmington, MO. The event will feature $5000 to win and $300 to start for sprint cars, $700 to win for IMCA style modifieds and $400 to win for pure streets. In past years we have had Kelly Kinser, Danny Smith, Dale Blaney just to name a couple, come to town to take on our local hot-shoes of Tim and Joey Montgomery, AJ Bruns, Steve Short, and Tommy Worley Jr. A very large car count is expected and there have been several drivers already call about the race. No matter who shows up, it will be a great event and a great way to end the season. For more information contact Cory or Jill Franklin at 573-438-4546 or 573-438-7337 or 573-225-3530.

Also, Granite City, IL will be running sprints and midgets on Sunday, October 7 paying $3000 to win for the sprint cars!!

Hope to see everyone next weekend!!!!!!!!

Jacksonville has cancelled the Friday night show, so that leaves $5000 to win at Farmington on Saturday and $3000 to win Sunday at Granite City. I do not have the complete payout, but I will try to get them for you as soon as I can.

What's your guess for car count?

I'll say 35

I suspect around 35 as well (but I've missed the guess badly the last couple years). This year is set up to have a beter turn out. You just never know who will show up. If it gets any support at all from Knoxville, Memphis or the All Sars the count could be better. If some top end 360 cars show it could run the count up as well. There are plenty of cars around. Latey with the bigger shows they don't get good support from some of their weekly cars. I've never understood that. Why they run the weekly shows for less money then not show for a bigger pay day. The cars that show will all be quality cars.

35 quality cars is enough anyhow. The track will be much better. I have not seen it one groove around the bottom all year. It has been very racey. It will be a good show. I wouldn't miss it.

It is always fun to speculate who will show up for the Queen's Royale at Farmington. Here are my thoughts:
Probable -
2007 MASS Champion Jerrod Hull, 2007 Farmington Champion Joey Montgomery, 2007 ATPR Benton Champion Tommy Worley Jr; Former Short Track Nationals Champion Tim Montgomery; Springfield and other IL cars AJ Bruns, Jimmy Hurley, Robbie Standridge, Ron Standridge, Tiffany Wizard, Terry Babb, Jim Moughan, Ryan Bunton, Brad Greer, and Joey Moughan; Farmington regulars Jason Hunt, Bryan Matthews, Tom Dickermann, Keith Burch, Steve Short, Joey Boyd, Bob Thoman, Jason Keith, Matt Dotson, Doc Sloan, Danny Long, Rod Crabdree, John Epperson, Tyler Thompson, and Blake Hutson.
Possible, based on previous entries -
2006 Queen's Royale winner Danny Smith, 2007 All-Stars Champion Greg Wilson, Former 3 times Queen's Royale Champion Kelly Kinser's son Kody.
Knoxville regulars Brian Brown, Ricky Logan, Kaley Gharst, and others. All-Star drivers Paul May, Dale Blaney, Brandon Martin and Brock Mayes. Memphis cars Tim Crawley in Mike Ward's car, Dale Howard, and Jan Howard.
Longshots -
Chad Blonde, Shane Stewart, Brandon Wimmer, Kraig Kinser, Brooke Tatnell, Jeff Swindell, Wayne Johnson, Billy Alley.

No Howards', I tried to get Jan to make the trip up as we were competitive there this year. He is taking a week off before the big money 360 shows around here. Dale and Josh Howard will be racing at the Ditch as well as Jeff Swindell, Crawley will be at I-30 Fri and Sat.

Thanks Guy, but we won't miss you at the Queen's Royale, but Sprinted , Petey, Wickerbill and others are still waiting for the last time you tried to run sprints at that track.

Tim Crawley will be running the Topless Nationals for Modifieds at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock this weekend.

The Ward #88 may be in Farmington but with another driver.

It would be great to see a few cars from the MidSouth area show up, but I doubt it. I think a lot of those guys are getting ready for the WestMemphis and LittleRock shows. A lot of the travelers will be from the Ohio, Indiana area. The weather and the racing will be great.
