Good thing a lot of 360 teams showed up or there would have been a 12 or 14 car field.  Pretty sad that it isn't supported by the 410 teams.  I'm sure there are very good reasons but you would like to see a guy like Jim Nace and his family honored with a great race.

There wasn't any cars that had a 360 under the hood. Disappointing (but not unexpected) car count but otherwise good show. Non-stop 30 lap feature. Not much action in the top 3 but watching Marks use every inch of the racetrack was worth the price of admission. The super late models stole the show(as expected) with the winner coming from 13th. On my way home @10 o clock. Good job Selinsgrove!

Last night blows to hell the theory thay paying more in the back end will draw more cars. For $600 start money, you would think some 305's would have showed up for a start and park.

Agreed. Anyone who watched Brent certainly got their moneys worth. He was really putting on a show. Wolfe and Hodnett were just so much faster than everyone else but behind them, there was some good racing. As far as the dust, we're in the middle of one of the worst droughts we've seen in this area in over a decade plus it was quite windy. Not much anyone can do about that.

The way Lucas went high or low on the lap cars making the passes clean was really great.  The track was wide and raceable,  Hodnett had nothing for Wolfe...Wolfe was on rails last night.  Marks was a worth the price of admission for sure.  Wow what a show he put on.....

The only problem I had was starting the two fastest cars on the front row of the feature.  I know they drew, but it ruins the racing when the fastest cars are on the front row!!  The track needs clay bad!  However, there were cars running the top, middle, and bottom all throughout the feature that is all you can ask for.

Late model heats and feature was one of the best I have seen this year at any track!

Let's go Sprint Car Racing!

Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

By 2018 you will see a new configuration at Selinsgrove, you heard it here first, track will be shortened. The inside rail  of 3 and 4 will now be the outside rail, turns 3 and 4 will be running through the existing road runner pits all the and cars will pit outside the track. Kinda like Port has it now, 2017 will see new clay for the first time in 5 to 6 seasons. It will never be good enough for super fans like wizard /: ( that clever little face and your use of bold type set you apart from the crowd, obviously you take posting on forums very seriously, great job Wiz.... :/

It is never about the money even the drive time UNTIL promoter ineptitude and aggravation enters the equation...

the race had enough mid pack passing to make up for the inability of management to understand that the pit road should be watered down to stop the dust storms...but how would they know this after running low car count 360 races all year.

glad the track will be shortened  and pits relocated...creating a promoter challenge to the Grove to see which track will be the last to cling to the infield pit legacy...

Williams Grove and Selinsgrove have more in common than all other area tracks ...shedding dinosaur habits slower than the evolution of the trilobite.

if Susky figures out how to run a TT show without a push off train wreck...both Groves will be left in the dust.

$25 contributed to the future of Selinsgrove Speedway...and the late model haulers got more dust than I did.

I am glad Lucas Wolfe won for John Zemaitis , he deserves so much , as he's done so much for  racing . Wish I could have made it to Selinsgrove , one of my favorite tracks . I agree with what has been said here , much that needs to be done , like clay , pit area problem and  shortening track . I do hope all this happens over a period of time ? don't think they had a productive year ,  as rain got them a few times . Nothing would surprise me here like track size , as teams aren't supporting this track for numerous reasons , distance to track , size , speed of track , economics of racing and other reasons . Times have changed in racing , expense , economy not as good ,  fan support of some tracks , pit crew guys don't work on cars like we use to , as we would get up and go to work know matter what time it was because we loved it so much .Just my thoughts , I know some will disagree but thats how I see it .

Random gibberish:

Remind me how a Selinsgrove Jim Nace Memorial thread turns into yet another Port vs. Lincoln mud throwing contest.

Haven't been to Selinsgrove in 30 years - not unlike a lot of places - really like the place as it is - as much as I like Lincoln, Port, and Williams Grove just the way they are. I'm an old guy and don't like change - especially to places like Selinsgrove, Sharon, Syracuse....must be that the "S's" are cursed.

Lernerville is racy and closer to home, but it just ain't Central PA........

Real race tracks have tunnels and/or bridges, pits in the infield, whitewashed fences/guardrails, and pagodas - but I prefer watch from the infield so I'm biased. If you think you can't see the entire track from bleachers with all the BIG trucks/trailers, ambulances, etc, you REALLY can't see much from the infield - but there I stay.

Pencil me in for the 2018 Nace Memorial and the 2020 Weikert @ Dirt Royal, it'll take me that long to remember why I don't go there...   :/ - I'd go to either place in  heartbeat but this is nonetheless funny stuff! And count me as one asshole who doesn't get to the Port as much as he'd like but would be there every Saturday night if he could.

Spend the better part of 30 years in exile from the speedway(s) and you won't be very fussy either.

Saturday will be my first Dirt  Classic...and if they screw around or pave the track with rubber early in the night, I will leave like I did with the pathetic conditions served up for the WoO race in May.

I have no problem heading home early if the aggravation outweighs the racing action...

As a Port "semi-regular" I'll be at Lincoln on Saturday for the third time this year.  I'll have beer in one hand, a sammich in the other, and I'll be watching a high number of 410's put on a great show....... and yes, I'll be having a blast, just like I do any other time I go to the races.

First thing they need to do at Selinsgrove is STOP calling it a National Open the only thing National on Saturday was the National Anthem.

Allen is right the local tracks if they have non sanctioned races need to make them Events (LIKE THE DIRT CLASSIC) this week, and before schedules are put out next year they should all get together promoters  and groups like the All Stars ,Outlaws ,NSL,U,.RC ,ESS,AND any other groups so Events are spread out..

THIS WILL BENEFIT fANS ,DRIVERS AND PROMOTERS.

As long as the Fairboard owns the teack dont look for Major Changes to the track.
