That show last Friday as others have stated on here was quite possibly the best sprint car races ever to take place on that track.  The 360 and 410 racing was about as good as you are ever gonna see anywhere. Yes it got to be a late night, primarily because of the 305 crash fest but I can deal with getting home at 2 AM when its worth it and it definitely was.

So thumbs up to CZ, TQ and everybody else involved in Jackson Motorplex. I got on here in May and bitched out CZ about that so it would only be right for me to get on here and say nice job to all involved. Maybe the world would be a better place if we actually handed out praise once in a while instead of complain about everything.

The track was Knoxville-esque, it had a sticky strip on the bottom and the top and a slick spot thru the middle and it produced great action. Whatever you did differently in track prep this time for God's sake do THE SAME THING FOR THE JACKSON NATIONALS!!

Don't quote me on this because I can't remember the year and can't remember all the specifics.  But I think TMAC was leading a race there.  Got put to the back after an open red for working on the car after the time limit. Came from the back and still won it.   I think those days are gone.  I agree Jackson was good Friday. Best this year.   Finally someone didn't win from the poll all night long.  still think it needs to be a 3/8ths.

Can't tell you the year either when McCarl did that, but I know I was there....last Friday night was reminiscent of quite a few of the WoO shows held there in the '80's and many of the weekly shows. Back in the day the place had some very stout local drivers. There were many very good nights of racing in the past. And I hope it continues. Probably just the "old fart" in me, and I know the plans are to shorten up the track, but I sure hate to see the old half mile go away. Spent many a Saturday night at the place when I was in JR High and High School...(the 60's).   Smile

Looked like great racing from the video! Hoping to possibly make it to the Jackson Nationals for my first ever trip there but probably only for Saturday.

A couple of questions for those who know.

Is all seating reserved at Jackson and do I need to get tickets in advance? Just wondering if there was a chance of a sell out or standing room only. The stands look big but so have the crowds up there. Also is there a bad seat in the house? The bottom rows still look pretty darn high.

This:

Track was great race top middle and low.  By far best race I've seen there in a long time.  Track prep seems to be getting better and better each week, hats off the Greg Bakker For the prep.  As it stands now I'll be making the 14 HR trip east for the nationals.  Ford, I think the bottom row of seats start at 10ft or more higher and I'm guessing they'll have the pits on the back behind the wall finished by then so there shouldn't be a bad spot in the house. Not sure on reserved seats for all but I'm pretty sure that's not the case.

Cheers.

For the outlaw show the top 6 rows were reserved seats. I'm not 100% certain, but I could see something similar for the Nationals.

Yes.  I also remember going to the ticket gate to get in and remembering that the price for the reserve seats and the general admission seats were the same price.  So reserve seating isn't anymore than picking a certain spot to sit.

Ticket prices for the Nationals at Jackson are $25 for Fri, $30 for Sat, and $35 for Sun. Or you can get a 3 day combo pass for $75. I am pretty sure there are no reserved seats. Everything is general admission but I'm not 100% sure on that. Since these are the only prices they list it is pretty safe to assume there are no reserved seats. Also I am fairly certain that the cars will pit inside the track unless they have a huge turn out of cars. I don't see them pitting out behind the wall or off of 1& 2 because it is too dangerous with nothing to stop cars or tires, etc. $25,000 to win for 410's on Sunday, $10,000 to win for ASCS 360's complete shows all 3 nights. Non-wing Sprints on Fri. and Sat. nights also. Should be a great weekend of racing.   Glen Murra

To add one more thing. Qualifying nights Fri. is ASCS 360's and non-wing Sprints, Sat night is NSL 410's and non-wing Sprints. Sun night is championship night with qualifying for ASCS 360's and NSL 410's.   Glen Murra

Maybe I missed something, how is pitting behind a 15' wall dangerous?  Isn't that what built that whole area behind the wall for?  It's leveled and  smooth.  Surely it's not for storing track prep equipment and not camping.
