For the 5th straight year at the Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial the Carwash Mike Fast Time Award will be handed out. The winner of the award on April 30 goes home with a custom Jagermeister Trophy & a Coors Light Cowboy Hat, in honor of racing super fan & friend Carwash Mike Avilla, who passed away in 2011. It’s also been a tradition to raise money for fast time & has risen to over $1000 for a number of years.
If anybody would like to donate money for the award in Mike’s name please let Gary Thomas or Dave & Durica know at [email protected] or 916-988-5958. The Carwash Mike Fast Time Award has been captured the last four years by Rico Abreu, Tim Kaeding, Roger Crockett & Bud Kaeding respectively. The Bradway Memorial was one of Mike’s favorite races each season at Chico’s Silver Dollar Speedway.
Lap money is also still available, so if you would like to purchase a lap be sure & let the Durica’s know asap. They will be on hand this Saturday in Placerville for the KWS opener.
The event on April 30 at Silver Dollar Speedway pays tribute to fallen race car driver Dave Bradway Jr., who lost his life in a Sprint Car crash at Skagit Speedway’s Dirt Cup in 1987. Bradway was a driver destined for stardom in Sprint Car racing and the event held in his memory has become a cornerstone for the King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series each season.
“The Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial is such a special race for so many people out here in California and the support it receives year after year is always so great to see,” said King of the West Announcer & PR Director Gary Thomas. “The Bradway is an event everyone can get behind and it’s definitely cool to see all the fans, teams, crew members & sponsors become involved with donating money & product. It’s one of those events that every driver wants to win and I know we can’t wait till April 30 to see who adds their name to the list. Silver Dollar Speedway has been great lately so you won’t want to miss it. ”
The King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series is held under the management of Prentice Motorsports Group, which also operates the Civil War 360 Sprint Car Series presented by Flowmaster, the Ocean Sprints presented by Taco Bravo, the Wingless Sprint Car Series presented by Hunt Magnetos, the All Star Modified Tour and Ocean Speedway.
The Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial features a 40-lap main event to conclude the night. Information and updates on the event will be found at www.racepmg.com & http://www.silverdollarspeedway.com along with both the KWS and Silver Dollar Speedway Facebook pages.
Silver Dollar Speedway is located on the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds, a half-mile west of SR 99 on Park Ave in Chico, California. Camping is available on the fairgrounds for the weekend.

Thank you to Kyle Larson Racing for donating $500 to the Carwash Mike Fast Time Award at the Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial. Larson’s career best outing at the Bradway came in 2010 when he ran second to his now World of Outlaws driver Shane Stewart.
Lap money is also still available so if you want to purchase a lap please let Dave & Dianne Durica know as soon as possible at 916-988-5958. Everything goes to print next week so the sooner the better to get everything organized & filed.
I’d like to cap the fast time money at $500 & focus on getting all the laps sold for the 40-lap A-main & 12-lap LCQ. The 26th annual Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial goes green next Saturday April 30 at Chico’s Silver Dollar Speedway.
