Sure, all New Jordans 2017 releases are essentially sport shoes – but the Air Jordan 6 "Alternate" has a different vibe to it. Offering a combination of white and red colors, we won't find it surprising if a professional player actually chooses this during a game. Creating a classic design, Air Jordan decided to emphasize the layered look of the shoes. With this approach, the body is done completely in white but with still some depth and texture to the exterior. There's also the distinctive stitching and the air holes which is more than typical. To wrap up the look, there's also a red lace lock with the Jumpman icon placed with the shoes. You may not need the lace lock, but it certainly completes the ensemble. Somewhat of a hybrid maroon variation as well, the sneaker pays homage to the Chicago Bulls' color scheme with white, pure platinum and gym red accents covering its entire upper. This iteration is also the pair that MJ would've donned during the 1991 Playoffs, as the year "1991" is evidenced on the tongues. Finally, translucent outsoles finish off the design. The New Air Jordan Shoes is one of Michael Jordan's more iconic retro models given the fact that it was the pair that MJ won his first championship. The Infrared colorways remain to be some of the most recognizable in the Jumpman catalog, but it's also nice to see Jordan Brand experiment with the model like with the upcoming "Black Cat" colorway with additional 3M touches, micro-perforations, and more. there's no "Nike Air" branding on this Air Jordan 6 "Alternate", but instead, a new micro-perforated leather contrasts a Pure Platinum nubuck while Gym Red accents and an icy outsole devoid of that added blue tint create an homage to Jordan Brand's early 1991 treatments. There's a certain Hare-like appearance on this model that didn't come until the next signature installment. 1991 is even stitched onto the inner tongue lining in an effort to pay homage to the year this model originally released.
